Fitz brings to recruiting over twenty years of experience in both private industry and government. After graduating from Eastern Michigan University, he was hired as the Assistant Treasurer for the National Sanitation Foundation. While there, he computerized the company, and was responsible for managing the certification review process.

While Assistant Treasurer, the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners drafted Mr. O'Neill for the newly created position of County Comptroller. Washtenaw County, centered in Ann Arbor is the second largest county in Michigan. His charter at Washtenaw included computerization of all financial functions, automating the budgetary process and responsibility for overseeing six hundred employees. During Fitz's tenure, he brought the County from a five hundred thousand deficit to a five hundred thousand dollar surplus.

After serving in both private industry and government organizations, Fitz relocated to Florida and founded a management-consulting firm with emphasis on computerization. His primary clients included Passport International and Tech Data

Fitz's experience in hiring at the senior management level and his technical background made the move to executive recruiting a natural one. He specializes in the optics and electro-optics industry, having identified these fields as having the greatest potential growth in the commercial and paramilitary markets.

He is a member of SPIE and has authored two articles addressing recruiting needs for candidates and employers (see November 1996 and January 1997 OE Reports.)

He has developed an e-mail list of over 3,500 names in the optics and electro-optical arenas. He has the ability to e-mail his Career Forum to solicit resumes for specific positions.

Fitz's expertise in finding the best of the best in candidates is highly regarded. He was invited to participate and speak at the DoD "Technology Leadership" workshop in Washington.
